This practice is inspired by Brené Brown. When she first started writing online this was how she celebrated Friday. I love the simplicity of the format and I hope you enjoy!
Here is what I am trusting, grateful for, inspired by, and doing for fun this week:
Trusting: I am trusting that I have made the best choice in my recent career move. This week, I received a text from a GOTR coach who included an essay that a 3rd grade participant wrote, here is a snippet of the program from her perspective:
“As you can see Girls on the run is so important to me. At first you’ll probably think to yourself: uhhh… I cant do this or you might say in your head: why did I let my parents sign up for me. We all feel like that at the start, but as you do more you start think wow I was so weird to think of those awful thoughts. Sometimes you just have to let go of what your afraid of and get a grab of what you love and know about yourself. Girls on the Run is where I truly belong and I will always be there when I get the opportunity.”
Reading that I feel such loss of my purpose in my daily work. Yes the job was tough and it was tough on my family and I traveled a lot. But MAN were we helping girls and changing their lives!
Grateful for: My strong support system. Its always so nice to be able to reach out to someone when you are having a tough day and receive an empathetic response.
Inspired by: Justine Froelker regularly posts about self-care, leadership, courage, and authenticity. I love her LinkedIn videos that make me think.
Doing for FUN!: Wrapping Christmas gifts. Bows are my favorite part, I like to get wired ribbon and make GIANT bows.
